What is a Hydraulic pump? | Types of Hydraulic Pump
A hydraulic pump is a device that can convert mechanical energy into hydraulic force (hydraulic force, such as pressure, flow rate). This pump provides flow with sufficient force to overcome the pressure caused by deformation.
This is the heart that locates outside the system. All hydraulic pumps have two main tasks:
- A hydraulic pump provides hydraulic flow to other parts (such as the hydraulic cylinder, piston, hydraulic motor, etc.).
- This flow that creates will already produce pressure to overcome the flow resistance.
A hydraulic pump is a volumetric pump that use for purposes, nutrients, liquids. It uses to supply hydraulic fluids to various parts of the system, such as engines, pistons, cylinders, etc., and it is probably a PD pump. The main purpose of the hydraulic pump is to allow hydraulic oils to be applied to the piston so that the piston will quickly move back and forth. Car power steering pump an example of using hydraulic pumps. An oil pump, engine, and gearbox are a very common example of this.
In addition, the maximum hydraulic feed pumps from electricity, also includes a pressure valve again to prevent the already pressurized pump.
These pumps are generally experienced at high flow and low pressure. This is because low pressure fluids move at a higher rate transferring large amounts of fluid in a short period of time.

Hydraulic Pump Components
In some cases, these pumps use to keep its fluids from a lower pressure and higher level. This pump has multi-variable and fixed components. The main components of the hydraulic pump are listed below:
1) Casing
This is, on the outside of the hydraulic pump, to ensure safety for the inside parts. Small pumps use aluminum casing, while other pumps use iron, cast iron. The main purpose of the house is to stop the liquid spray outside the pump. These characteristics also prevent the pump from harming, if heavy on the soul as well, the substances of the pump.
2) Runner
The runner refers to the rotating part of the rest pump that is inside the pump body. It has multiple vanes that rotate along with the select runner. Rotating runner guides, fluids and pump substances and spin. In this process, the pressure of the fluid increases. In addition, this runner also plays an important role in the cooling and lubrication system.
3) Shaft
The shaft of the hydraulic pump uses to rotate the runner. This shaft is made of stainless steel or steel. Its size can be adjusted depending on the results.
4) Bearings
The bearings play an important role for the runner’s rotation. This is a very important part of the hydraulic pump.
5) Sealing
An important factor is the young leakage of liquid pump, seal. Most pumps will fail due to damage to bearing components. Sealing is a component that reduces the risk of leakage.
6) Oil storage tank
This oil tank contains incompressible fluids (such as oil). This tank also protects hydraulic oils and dirt. In this way, the tank helps the hydraulic system to function properly.
7) Pipeline
Installation of the system is simple, but the most important thing is the pipeline itself, which transports hydraulic fluids from one point of the system to another.
8) Motor
To activate the driver’s axles of the system, a motor is used. These are the driving axes of additional nodes and the tool.
9) Hydraulic drive
This device converts the hydraulic forces of a fluid into a mechanical force to achieve the desired effect.
The driver should look something like this:
Type Hydraulic Pump
A hydraulic pump has the following types:
1) Rotary Vane pumps
This is a volumetric pump with middle blades add to the pump, which rotates along with the runner. Sometimes these blades may have different lengths and / or voltages to allow communication with the wall pumping units. An important factor in the design of a vane pump is that it is with a lid. However, the main purpose of the “lip” is to ensure that there is a tight seal between the inside of the blade and the pump, to minimize wear or tear, and metal-to-metal contact.
2) External Gear Pump
The external gear hydraulic pump has two gears (slave and disc). This pump creates a fluid flow by passing it between two gears. The gears are interlocked with each other.
When the teeth of the gear wheel are engaged, a vacuum creates at the pump inlet. Tighten the pump, the liquid begins to move inside the pump to fill the vacuum and transport that pump. When the gear mesh is closed again, the liquid starts to come out again at the end.
Gear cylinders are very common in a wide variety of applications, and they are easy to cut off. These are tools that offer a low cost, compared to bone and spiral gears.
