Leo was a short and a bit chubby man, was about to turn 40, but he didn’t care. He thought that he needed to buy a present for his wife’s birthday, but he had no idea what to buy her. Leo is in the front of Gun maintenance shop According to him, she had everything she needed. Maybe something slightly extravagant and uncommon would do the trick and impress her. He wanted to buy her something that would bring them closer and maybe make them love each other more.
He picked up his car keys and set out to the market complex nearby. The stores there were well-equipped with unique and beautiful items and there were various clothing brands as well. When he reached the market, he felt tempted to visit the new gun maintenance shop he had heard his neighbors talk about. Everyone in the town was in awe of the new addition to their market and were impressed by the expertise and generosity of the store handler. He went in to check out the collection at the shop called “Melbourne Master Gunsmith”. He knew now that the neighbours were not exaggerating. The services and maintenance were up to the mark. He knew a thing or two about the gun repairs and he could tell that the service was great. Leo greeted the guy and moved on to buy the present he was supposed to.
He approached a shop window that was filled with antiques and vintage items. He looked at the items one by one and he stopped at one red antique brass locket. It was shaped like a heart and had a small window on the top half. He realised that his wife had always liked to collect antique items that had beautiful shapes. Since the locket was affordable and perfect for his wife, he took it home immediately.
Being a chef, he knew his way around the kitchen. So what could be better than a yummy birthday dinner! He had bought some exotic ingredients while at the market and was now mixing them in a cup. He wasn’t sure what he was doing, but he let his instincts do the talking. After a few hours, he had created some creamy puddings and two of his wife’s favourite dishes. He was sure that he had prepared a masterpiece that would impress his wife.
He took out some old family pictures and started cutting them so they’d fit in the locket. She finally came back from work and as soon as she had freshened up, he hugged her Happy Birthday and gave her the locket. When she opened it and saw the pictures, her eyes filled with tears. She told him it was the best gift she had ever received. He helped her put it around her neck instantly and complimented her wife on how charming it looked on her.
At 6 o’clock he and his wife sat down at their dining room table. It was a warm spring evening and they had a view of the city. In front of them, Leo had placed the big container with his masterpiece and asked for her wife to go ahead and have it. She didn’t know what to expect as she pored over the large glass containers, each full of lovely puddings. She had filled large spoons with each of them and tasted them. Also loved the second one and said that she could eat a dozen. She couldn’t stop and started with the dinner.
Leo felt so happy and his heart was filled with joy to see his plan succeed. All he wanted was for his wife to have a great birthday that could take away the stress of her work and calm her mind and heart. Their time together was always cheerful. They had always been best friends and even after facing the ups and downs of married life, they ended up stronger than ever.
The next exercise he had thought for him to read her favourite book aloud to her while she relaxed on their couch. He picked up Wuthering Heights and started reading to her. They read on and on for what seemed like several hours. Finally, they come to a halt and decide to go to bed. But before that, Leo asked his wife to list at least five things that she was thankful for in her life. She agreed and closed her eyes to reminisce and express gratitude.
He was so happy that he could make her day good and enjoyable at gun maintenance shop. They had always considered friendship as the foundation of their relationship and it became stronger with every next step in life.
