How to reach :
To reach the beautifully trekking ground of Hampta Pass by;
Air – The Bhuntar Airport is 52 km away from Manali and after reaching the Bhuntar Airport you can book a taxi towards Hampta Pass.
Train – You have to get down at the Pathankot Railway Station at Himachal Pradesh and then hire a bus or a cab towards Hampta Pass.
Road – Delhi is the major suitable connected road towards Manali so it is always advisable to avail a private car or a private bus towards Hampta Pass.
Things to carry :
You must carry the following items in your trek –
- Your backpack must consist of three to four warm clothes and t-shirts, four pairs of trousers, a raincoat and a warm blanket.
- You must wear trekking footwear to trek at Hampta Pass and carry a pair of flip flops and two extra pairs of socks.
- Take your torch and extra batteries, sunglasses, portable charger for your cell phone, an umbrella, and a flexible walking stick.
- Take two 1-litre water bottles and a thermos flask and some dry food and snacks.
- You must consult a doctor about medications before you set out for your journey.
Best time to visit :
May till October is the most preferred period to trek at Hampta Pass Trek. Due to heavy snowfall and landslides, the trekking spots are normally closed for trekking. In August the temperature of the region is much warmer than the other months. From November till April the trekking region remains closed.
