- Garland Pose/Malasana
The garland pose or the malasana usually strengthens the pelvic area and the abdomen when the hips are being opened. This asana serves anyone with PCOD or PCOS by increasing the blood flow in the pelvic area also helping them improve the metabolic rate as well. Stand wide apart on a mat and then bend your knees and bring the body to a squat position. Then fold your hands as if you are doing pranam and extend the lower back. Come up and down slowly and hold each time for at least 5 seconds. You can also use two cushions or hard things for support. DO this pose 3 times.
- Bridge Pose/ Setu Bandhasana-
The bridge pose usually reduces stress and calms the body and brain which is one of the main reasons for the problem. To do this pose all you need to do is lie down on the ground ad then fold your knees. Keep the hands by your side and slowly lift your lower back area. The portion that will come up is only up till the hip and the chest will remain on the ground. This will form a bridge and your need to do this continuously for about 15 times. The palms and the feet will rest on the floor.
- Bow pose/Dhanurasana-
This pose will help you get rid of any menstrual discomfort and will relieve you from menstrual cramps as well. The pose generally works on the lower portion of the body and starches all of the muscle there increasing the blood circulation of that particular area. The pose also helps in stimulating the reproductive organs as well which in order helps in the proper regulation of the menstrual cycle. This also releases the tension from the abdomen organs and helps in realize anxiety to some extent as well. To do this pose all you need to do is lie down on the ground your face facing the floor. Then bend your knees and try holding your feet with your hands from the back. At this position raise your face. The full body should be stretched and tighten and try and hold this position for about 30 seconds. Try increasing the holding position with each passing day. And slowly release and rest for some time.
- Butterfly Pose/ Bound Angle Pose-
One of the best and most useful poses for any ovarian cyst problem this pose is one such pose that the people of Yoga School in Rishikesh swear by. This pose helps one in so many and helps in any problem related to the spine, chest, and heart as well. This is one such pose that anyone can do and is very easy as well. First, sit on a mat in a very relaxed position and then slowly bend your knees. While you are bending your knees your soles should touch each other and come together and the knees are dropped towards both sides. Then slowly lean backward until the back portion of yours is on the floor. Then close your eyes and keep on breathing. Hold this pose for as much time as you can and then slowly come up.
- Bonus Breathing Technique/ Lapalbhati Pranayama-
This is nothing but a breathing method that works on few things that are associated with PCOS like overweight, blood sugar, etc. This helps and works on the abdomen muscles when you breathe out forcefully. This gives you the best results when you perform this poise empty stomach in the morning. To do this pose all you need to do is sit in a chair or a normal cross-legged position on the floor. Then relax and close your eyes and take a deep breath through your nose and this will expand your chest. Then just realize the air with a great force will affect the abdominal muscles. Do this 10 times and for about 5 minutes.
