HOW TO PUT CONTACT LENSES IN FOUR EASY STEPS
Before you begin
Wash your hands with soap (preferably with an unscented antibacterial liquid soap), then rinse and dry your hands with a lint-free towel. It is always a good idea to put the contact lenses in the same order, for example to start with the right eye. This way you will not confuse the lenses with each other.
Make sure the lenses are not upside down
To do this, simply place the lens on your fingertip and lift your finger into the light. If the edges are outward, it is upside down. If it looks like a cup with smooth edges, then it is ready to use. Most come with a 123 indicator, so it’s easy to tell if they’re upside down. If the numbers are in reverse order, then the lens is upside down.
KEEP YOUR EYES WIDE OPEN
With your free hand, gently hold the upper eyelid so that it does not blink. With the lens at your fingertips, use the other fingers on the hand with which you place the lens to pull down the lower eyelid.
LENS INTRODUCTION
Keep your hand steady and look up as you place the lens on your eyes, then gently release your eyelid and close your eye for a moment to allow the lens to sit in position. Repeat for the other eye.
