I use CorelDraw A LOT and find that I explain different things once again in my instructions. I don’t think I can stop it, but if I review the original ideas in one place, it might help some people.
I will only cover the 10 essential operations in CorelDraw. If this is useful and not enough coverage, I will follow another guide.
I use Corel Draw Home and Student 2019. The tech shop has a CorelDRAW X5 (very annoying to me). There are very few differences between the two, but I’m very disappointed, CorelDraw 2019 can’t read the X6 standard cache. The solution is to export your CorelDRAW 2019 files as CMX5 files.
When you open CorelDraw 2019, there may be one or more dialog boxes that you want to close.
To create a new document you can click File-> New or Ctrl-N or you can click on the icon in the top left corner of the window, just under the “File” menu.
This creates a dialog box (see photo). In this dialog, you can configure the certificate name and much more, but for now, just say “OK”.
There is a rectangle on the screen with a shadow on the back. This is a certificate. In the upper left, there is a drop-down menu that might say “Leak” or “Spreadsheet” or “Custom”. Download it and select “Custom” (see photo). In addition to this slider, there are 2 boxes with horizontal and vertical dimensions of the screen. If you use lasers and more, you should adjust it from 24 inches to 18 inches.
You should also adjust your rulers by clicking on the corner where the 2 rulers meet and drag them to the corner of the screen (see photo). Note that the horizontal ruler rises to the left but the vertical ruler rises to the top. This means that all the places on the page have a negative Y value.
You can use File-> Save to save the certificate. After specifying the file name, you can use Ctrl-S or click on the disk icon at the top of the page or use File-> Save.
If you want to save another type of file, save it as File-> and use the “Save as Type” drawer to select the file type you want. Once again, if you use this file in TechShop and have the X6 version, you’ll want to save it as “CorelDRAW 5.0 Exchange Format”.
Now we need something. You can use the box tool (F6 and tool 7 in the entire bar on the left). Or elliptical instruments (F7 and instrument 8). Or free tools (F5 and six devices). Or polygon tools (F8 and Ninth tools). The polygon tool allows you to create spirals or stars.
To access different options for each device, click the toolbar button at the bottom left corner (where there is a small black triangle) and select the option you want.
Create something so you can play with it for the rest of this lesson. It doesn’t matter what the object is.
I created a complex star (see photo).
The selection tool is the first toolbar on the right (see photo). It has a rectangular collector and a free collector, but most of the time you simply click on something. It helps if you click on the edge. Warning: If there are multiple items and some are facing each other, the program selects the items in front. In these cases, you can use the “Object Manager” (Tool-> Item Manager) to get the items you want. Explain more about this in Step 10.
When you select something, the entire menu changes based on what is selected. There are many options for things and text and bit maps and nothing is fixed. For example, if you select two items together, the “Trace” option will not be available in the bitmap menu. If the menu option you want is gray, keep that in mind.
Choose the thing you created. You can now use the filling and exit tool (the “drawing pen” on the right is the 15th tool, it looks like a pen tip; the filling tool is the 16th, it looks like a bucket) Filling parameters To organize. And line h (see photo).
The filling tool allows you to adjust the filling pattern and color of your item. If you put it in “No Fill” it will be transparent. If you set it to “uniform filling” it will only be one color. Also, If you use “spring filling”, you can create a color gradient. You can also fill in a pattern or texture or use a “postscript fill” that allows customized patterns.
The Outline tool allows you to adjust the line squares and colors or delete them completely. For other laser machines and other CNC machines, “hairline” is an important configuration because it means “vector cutter”.
