Immigration Issues in U.S And Their Solutions
The United States has always been the land of opportunities and dreams. It also has its share of issues that have affected both immigrants and locals alike.
Immigrants from all over the world have always thought of the U.S as a safe haven. Where they can build a life away from the problems in their home countries.
The immigration issues that started in 1882 still haunt many families today, especially those who are undocumented immigrants.
But despite these challenges, there have been solutions implemented by Congress and the Obama administration to limit these immigration issues once and for all. Although none of them have been fully enforced yet.
On June 27, 2010, President Obama signed into law a comprehensive immigration reform bill that’s designed to tackle issues relating to border security and illegal immigration.
However, there are still many unresolved issues related to America’s current immigration system that require significant attention by policymakers on both sides of the aisle.
The development of a sound and effective national immigration policy requires careful deliberation and debate by all segments of American society.
Immigrants, especially those from non-European countries, are likely to be targets of racial profiling or hate crimes. The United States has no national database that records bias crimes and does not classify them as a separate crime category, so such incidents are not tracked at all by law enforcement agencies.
Here are some of the major immigration issues in the United States and their possible solutions to overcome them. Have a look!
Muslim Immigrants
This is an ongoing immigration issue in the United States that whether Muslim immigrants should be banned from entering the country or not.
Donald Trump had proposed a ban on all Muslim immigrants into America. Although he later shifted his focus to immigrants from countries with a history of terrorism.
He also proposed national databases for certain religious groups and even suggested creating special ID cards for Muslims living in America.
This is not an unprecedented measure, Since other countries like Saudi Arabia have implemented very similar policies as a way to identify potential terrorists.
Solution
There are probably better ways to deal with international terrorism than by discriminating against an entire religion because some adherents may become extremists and commit acts of violence.
Illegal Immigrants from Southern Border
Many immigrants from Mexico and other South Americans have found work in America. Many of them are illegal and have entered without passing through proper immigration procedures and checkpoints.
For years, politicians on both sides of the aisle have expressed concerns about undocumented immigrants entering into America illegally. So President Trump’s campaign promise to build a wall along the southern border may be well-intentioned.
It is not likely that many people will come out against building a wall if it means strengthening border security; but it may also create more problems than solutions.
If a wall is built along the southern border with Mexico; they can expect to see increased trafficking of weapons and drugs across an even larger boundary.
Solution
The wall should be built to stop the flood of illegal immigrants in the United States. Illegal immigrants can affect the country’s economic conditions. Proper security should be imposed on borders to stop illegal immigrants.
Detainers
While politicians and law enforcement officials have long debated the pros and cons of detaining undocumented immigrants. The Supreme Court was recently asked to examine whether or not local law enforcement should be allowed to detain them. As well as take action when they are suspected of committing crimes.
Solution
Illegal immigrants should be detained as they are living illegally in the States. It is better to detain illegal immigrants for the security of the country.
Access to Government Services
More often than not immigrants who come to the United States do so with the dream of living the American Dream. This includes having access to important government services, such as health care and housing.
However, recent debates have sprung up over whether or not illegal immigrants should be allowed to receive these benefits from the government; that they are not paying into. And if they should be taxed by the IRS even if they are not citizens.
The argument over whether or not those who are in the country illegally. It should be eligible for government benefits and services is a contentious one. And while there may be no hard-and-fast rule about eligibility, it’s always important to examine both sides of an issue. Illegal immigrants are not allowed to access the government services in the USA as they are living illegally in the State.

Solution
Illegal immigrants should be provided government services in an emergency as they are l9ving in the country and it is the responsibility of the state to provide the necessary services.
